LOW BATTERY

Low Battery is a small, precarious work, composed of images sent to me by Mauricio Amarante without any particular intention, during a few months of emotional and geographical instability that saw him wandering between Bordeaux, Brussels and Marseille. The images followed a winding path, from the screen of an old digital camera with a dead battery, via a smartphone and messenger. They are therefore extracts from an atypical correspondence that I chose to assemble to form a collection that defies classification.

Low Battery is a vision full of interference, a recording of intimacy that pierces through screens, glimmers that flicker amid pixels. Images that appear like waves, like sensitive imprints on the ribbon of time.

Low Battery is a camera that absorbs circulating energies, the warmth of bodies, the softness of gazes, the blur of night, the rustling of an underground life. It is an emotional fog, pages full of tremors, a few fragments, flashes of presence like friction on the wall of reality.
