HECTOR florence cats
In September 2017, Hurricane Irma, classified as a category 5 hurricane, was approaching the West Indies. Webcam footage broadcast live on the net allows thousands of people to follow the storm's progress and exchange information via youtube chat. On the images of the port of Gustavia on the island of Saint-Barthélémy, a palm tree is waving on the right of the screen. Internet users named it Hector, created a Twitter account for it and made it a symbol of resistance. The international press reports on the hero. From this story, Florence Cats has produced a series of drawings, paintings, videos, sounds, installations... exhibited in Brussels at the gallery La Part du Feu. This fanzine links the webcam images on youtube, the text of Hector's death in Homer's "Illiad", and excerpts from the twitter account.
