In Italian chi è lei means who is she. This book is the result of a journey, we set out to follow in the footsteps of my great-grandmother who was born in 1900 in Busseto, a small town in Emilia-Romagna in northern Italy. But here  Lei does not refer to anyone in particular. The question is open, undefined, unresolved. Our research is based on doubt, vulnerability, disappearance.
